Who We Are

Welcome to Sidewalk Sanctuary Missions Ministry

SWS, located in Marietta, OH, was founded by David and Alysia Roux, who have been involved in church ministry since 2008. In 2022, they formed Sidewalk Sanctuary (SWS), a street ministry that teams up with churches, individuals, and the community, dedicated to ministering on a more personal level to the lost, hurting, hungry, and needy.

To have a mission dedicated to creating an atmosphere for God's presence so all people can encounter the life-changing presence and power of God.

Our Mission

To take the gospel message out of the church building into the streets in effort to reach a lost and dying world.

Our Vision

Sidewalk Sanctuary Salvation Center – Doctrine of Faith

The God-Head

We believe in The Father – Lord God Jehovah, The Son – Jesus Christ, and The Holy Ghost.

The Great Commission

We are called to:

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.”

The Blessing of Giving

We honor God through:

  • Tithes – A tenth part of our income
  • Offerings – That which is above and beyond our tithes

The Bible

We uphold the Holy Word of God as the foundation for faith and practice.

Abiding in the Fruit of the Spirit

We strive to live in:

Love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.

Endeavoring to Keep Unity

We believe in:
“One body and one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father.”

Jesus Christ is the head of the Church, the husband is the head of the wife, and parents are the head of the children.

Our Beliefs

We affirm:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there He shall come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

  • Repent – Turning away from what God forbids and returning to His commands.
  • Confess – Declaring Jesus as Lord and unashamedly professing faith to the world.

Romans 10:9-10 – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

1 John 1:9 – “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Matthew 3:13-17

Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbade him, saying, “I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?” And Jesus answering said unto him, “Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he suffered. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him. And lo a voice from heaven, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

We believe God still heals, delivers, and sets people free today, just as He did in Biblical times.

Hebrews 13:6-8
So that we may boldly say, “The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God; whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
